HOLIDAY INN LISBON-CONTINENTAL BY IHG, Lisbon – A Smart Stay in the City

The hotel provided clean, close accommodation near the airport, but lacked natural light in the rather dreary rooms. The service was helpful with smooth check-in and check-out processes. The location is a bit far from the center but offers many facilities and services, justifying the value paid. The dining options were fair but not as described.

Upon checking in during the Christmas season, the hotel rooms had a bad smell but were ultimately nice and clean. Not ideal for a family with a child due to the initial odor. Service was practical, although a bit slow at refilling buffet items, the staff at the reception desk was really nice. The location is convenient for quick access to the airport but lacks tourist appeal, with metro accessibility. Dining experience was decent but repetitive, with a temporary setup. Overall, a mixed experience with some drawbacks concerning odor and dining repetition.

Upon entering the room, it looked quite drab; however, the rooms were clean, comfortable, and a good size with three beds ready set up. The staff were very friendly, spoke great English, and were polite, professional, and helpful. The rooms are now looking dated and could do with a refresh.

The hotel has rooms that are suitable for three persons, spacious, and very comfortable, replete with nice amenities like complimentary tea and coffee, an ironing table, and a variety of TV channels. While the rooms may feel a bit older, they are still very clean and well-maintained.

The hotel's location is good, close to tourist places and with Vitalis water bottles in the restaurant. The rooms, however, were small, old, and dull, not matching the 4-star expectations I had. The hotel was big and the rooms, despite having high bathtubs that were slightly challenging to get in and out of, were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with good-sized TVs. The staff were extremely friendly, spoke great English, and were professional and helpful. The service was impeccable, though there were instances of rudeness at the reception. The location was convenient for walking around in the center of Lisbon, with easy access to various tourist attractions and public transportation. The dining experience was decent enough, but not up to the expected standards for such a reputable hotel chain.

The hotel's rooms were incredibly quiet with no noise disturbance from the nearby airport, making for a peaceful stay. Although very clean, the rooms can feel cramped for families with kids.

Despite the room being too small for the hotel's size and unable to accommodate an additional bed, my stay was uplifted by the offer of an upgraded room. The staff, exemplified by Mr Dinis in the breakfast restaurant and the attentive lady in charge of housekeeping, were a pleasant surprise amidst others who showed indifference or unfriendliness.

I had a comfortable stay at the hotel, with clean and spacious rooms offering nice amenities, but the dining experience was somewhat lacking in variety. The staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to assist, making up for any minor issues. The location was convenient with good access to transportation options, and the overall value for money was reasonable.
